Fasting

Luke 5: 35

But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; in those days they will fast.

We are in the days whereby Christ has returned to his father for a time before taking his selected bride with him. It’s important to keep in mind that God created relationships as a representation as well as a vessel for love. All relationships reflect the type of God (or gods) we serve. What does your relationship represent? The love of a christ who pursues his church? Or maybe something else?

What are you willing to settle in having a relationship, because it is only a few toss throws from revealing who you worship, your faith, and your obedience to what you believe.

We must understand that Christ pursues the church; that this savior figures believes in the church and believes in its dreams and is willing to support it. The church needs to respond to Christ; it is intended to be a movement, a pillar of spiritual gifts. In the same token, men are Christ figures and women are church figures. If we keep this model in mind it helps us to understand the ideals; for we are all broken and will fall short of the glory of God. When we see the bright version of what God intends for us, then we are able to see the truth in a convoluted world where most relationships, most entities are struggling to survive.

We must believe that a Christ figure will appear in our lives. We must believe that he has a rescue plan, and that we are that gift he wants to save. What would be the point of a Christ without anything to save? The church must respond to his wishes; it must have faith so as to respond to the love of Christ.

Have you ever wondered why men die before women? Do you think that perhaps this is intentional? Do you see that women who have lost their spouses cope far better than men who are more often than not encouraged to remarry? A woman is much better at reflecting on the love she’s had and realizing that she lived a life whereby someone loved her, supported her, sacrificed for her. We therein can realize we are worth fighting for, and are willing to wait for the one we so loved in heaven. There will be a time of fasting; we are in a world of fasting. I would behoove all people in this world to try fasting and see what happens to their physical self as well as mental self. Fasting helps you to deal with challenges rather than feel that everything must be kept up perfectly. It helps you to keep things in perspective in knowing that not everyone on this spiraling planet... has a plate of food before them, or the realization that... there is a heavenly father who does in fact love them, who does in fact... have a rescue plan designed for them. But we must remember and have faith that our living Christ will return.
